Structural Monitoring Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION

Strainstall UK is now trading as BES Group Asset Reliability. In our new home as part of BES Group, we remain a leading provider of specialist testing services and structural monitoring to the construction, rail, energy, marine, highways and maintenance sectors.

We are looking to recruit Technicians to join our growing team of industry leading technical authorities, chartered engineers, experienced project managers and technicians.

We combine expert engineering with strong customer service, contract management and operational planning capabilities. Our expertise and understanding of monitoring instrumentation and data acquisition systems enables us to provide a range of integrated testing and monitoring solutions that meet the highly challenging and technically demanding needs of our customers. Our aim is to enable asset owners/managers and construction companies to make timely decisions that reduce the risk of a project throughout the asset lifecycle.

To be considered for this role you will live in North West England and be willing to travel around the UK, overseas and offshore when required. We have office locations in Bristol and Warrington.

What will I be doing?

As our Asset Reliability Division continues to expand in the UK, there is the requirement to grow the Project Delivery Team within the business to support both existing and new contracts. In order to support this growth we are looking for Structural Monitoring Technicians to join the team. This role would entail the successful delivery of projects, working alongside our Engineers which provides opportunity for learning and progression.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Work closely with our Structural Monitoring Engineers and Project Managers in the delivery of various projects
  • Ensuring projects are delivered in a safe manner, to schedule and in accordance with customer requirements.
  • Work with HSEQ Department to ensure compliance with all Safety, Quality and Environmental and policies, processes and procedures
  • Accurately communicate task and project progress (weekly & monthly reporting) to the Structural Monitoring Engineers and Project Managers, in accordance with the approved reporting processes. Inform Project Manager of any project changes/variations.
  • Build strong relationships with all clients on new and existing contracts

What experience do I need?

Our team consists of the best, highly skilled and qualified Engineers and we want our new recruits to have the same attitude, aptitude and appetite for what we do.

You will need:

  • Experience in an installation role, radio or electrical installation, a vehicle mechanic role or similar
  • Demonstratable experience in: working on projects and as part of a team – this can be at Uni or College
  • Practical engineering experience is ideal but not essential (mechanical, electrical or civil)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Confident in report writing and completing project documentation
  • Be flexible and available to travel to site in UK and overseas from time to time, in support of project activities
  • A good level of IT and literacy skills
